New equipment expands safety net for citizens (03/18/09)
BENTON -- With a new system in place, the Scott County Sheriff's Department can confirm identities with a quick look at the eyes. Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter announced Tuesday that his office has implemented The Child Project and Senior Safety Net, systems that enable them to enroll, identify and locate missing children and adults using iris recognition biometric technology. The system will also be used for registering convicted sex offenders and jail inmates...
Sikeston facing changes (03/18/09)
SIKESTON -- Heading into the 2009 high school baseball season, the Sikeston Bulldogs have a lot on their plate. For starters, they're lacking in the abundance of senior leadership that they've grown accustomed to over the last decade. KELSO -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their annual banquet on March 7 at Ray's in Kelso. Awards for the 2008 tournament season were handed out at the banquet. Angler of the Year went to Leven Cox while second and third place went to Ty Garrett and John Wilson respectively...
