BENTON -- After years of preparation, Scott County has opened a new revenue stream when it began boarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees in the county jail earlier this month. "Right now, we're holding 10 prisoners," said Sheriff Rick Walter. SIKESTON -- Miner city officials and a secret Santa brought a bit of Christmas cheer to some who could really use it Thursday. Of all the places to spend Christmas, a hospital bed has to be among the worst. "Our doctors don't want them to be here at all," said Leslie Sisk, maternal child nurse manager at Missouri Delta Medical Center. If a condition such as an infection or respiratory problem requires them to stay, "then we do want to make it as special as it can be for them."...
