Man dies in fire (01/10/10)
COOTER - A man died when his rural home caught fire Friday morning. Joe Hardesty, 71, was pronounced dead at the scene of a fire, first reported at 7:40 a.m Friday. According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, a motorist observed smoke coming from a residence, which is located off Highway DD near the Tyler community in Pemiscot County. A 911 call indicated Hardesty was still inside the residence...
Charges filed in drug arrests (01/10/10)
SIKESTON -- A Sikeston couple is awaiting arraignment on drug charges following their arrest Friday. Tommy Keith Turner, 39, and Raynette Turner, 37, are each charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute. Both are in custody at the Scott County Jail, with Tommy Turner under a $100,000 cash only bond and Raynette Turner under a $100,000 cash or surety bond...
