sports@standard-democrat.com COOTER -- The Class 1, Sectional 1 game between the Oran Eagles and the Cooter Wildcats was postponed due to lightening and thunderstorms on Monday. Wildcats' starter Zach Watkins was in the batter's box in the top of the third when the first lightening strike of the afternoon sent each team inside their respective dugouts. Here is a pic I took right after the storm came through Sikeston. The photo was taken at 904 Hawthorne in Sikeston. No one was injured although the occupants of the residence were standing just feet from the room where the tree fell.
