BENTON - A Scott City man died in a work-related accident Monday morning. Scott County Coroner Scott Amick said Jerry Rhodes, was killed while working on road repairs along Highway 77 at Route W. According to Amick, the accident was not witnessed but officials believe Rhodes was apparently removing a tarp off the dump bed of his truck when he lost his footing.
