A recent visitor to our town's Main Street recalled his participation as a boy in the 4-H Fat Barrow Show held for many years each spring in New Madrid. Begun in 1946 and sponsored by the local Rotary Club, the show included a parade down Main Street, a hog show and finally a sale.
