Farmer leaves ASU basketball program

Sunday, March 30, 2008

JONESBORO -- Arkansas State head men's basketball coach John Brady announced Thursday that Ashton Farmer, a sophomore forward on last year's team, has decided to leave the ASU men's basketball program to pursue a football career at another school.

Brady and Farmer met earlier this week, at which time Farmer informed Brady of his intentions to stop playing collegiate basketball.

Farmer played in all 30 games last season, including four as a starter, and averaged 1.7 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
