Tuesday, October 19, 2004

SIKESTON - The Kelly cross country boys and girls teams both placed fourth in the SEMO Conference Invitational in Sikeston on Thursday.

On the boys side, Michael Glastetter placed 11th with a time of 17:54.

"I was very impressed with Michael for after being out due to an injury for nearly three weeks, he was able to come out and run in the 17s," said Kelly coach Rachael Groner. "Not many people could do that. That is very encouraging with districts coming up."

Jordan Felter placed 13th with a time of 18:10.

Jordan Felter had a strong race even though he fell down several times due to the wet conditions," said Groner.

Russell Carroll placed 18th with a time of 18:33. Derek Brucker finished 24th with a time of 18:58 and Zach Hicks finished 30th with a time of 19:48.

On the girls side, Sarah Ruff took sixth with a time of 21:33.

"Sarah is very exciting to watch and I expect her to qualify at districts and head to state," said Groner.
