SIKESTON -- A Sikeston resident returned home Thursday afternoon to find that her home had been burglarized.
Caroline Faye Evans left her home at 236 Harry at 5 a.m. Thursday and when she returned at 3:15 p.m. she found her front door damaged and several items missing from her home.
Missing were a video cassette recorder worth $150, a gallon paint can worth $500, a television worth $300, 15 movies valued at $150, a watch valued at $150, a ring worth $250, two bottles of perfume worth $130 and two dresses valued at $140.
Officers believe entry was gained into the home by using a small screwdriver to pry the front door open. Anyone with information is asked to call Sikeston DPS at 471-1500.
