CAPE GIRARDEAU - Leila Mae Boldrey, 78, died Aug. 29, 2004, at the Lutheran Home.

Born Sept. 1, 1925, in Cora City, Ill., daughter of the late Benjamin Edler and Anna Dorothy Boedeker Boldrey, she graduated from Chester (Ill.) High School and was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and Chapter BI of PEO Sisterhood. A secretary for the Southeast Missouri State University Math Department for 23 years, she was a volunteer for Southeast Missouri Hospital, the police station and the Lutheran Home.

On Nov. 22, 1945, at Chester, she married Bernard Duane Boldrey who preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1995.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Gregory I. and Kathy Boldrey of Sikeston; and two grandsons, Dr. Andrew Boldrey and Aaron Boldrey of St. Louis.

One brother also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. today until service time at 7 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Paul Short will officiate.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fairmount Cemetery.
