EAST PRAIRIE - Susie Hunter Aycock, 89, died at 6:20 p.m. Feb. 23, 2004, in the Golden Years Homestead in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Born Feb. 13, 1915, in New Madrid County, daughter of the late Robert W. and Susie Mae Woodward Hunter, she had lived most of her life in East Prairie where she and her late husband owned andē operated Aycock's Corner Confectionery and Jewelry. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie.
On Jan. 1, 1938, she married Eugene C. "Gene" Aycock who preceded her in death on March 16, 1993.
Three brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Judi Aycock of Ft. Wayne; one daughter, Cathy Dodson of Springfield; one brother, Robert "Sonny" Hunter of East Prairie; one sister, Ruth Wilson of Sikeston; five grandchildren, Courtney Rottinghaus of Columbia, Alexandra Dodson of Leadville, Colo., Amanda Fetko of Vernon Hills, Ill., Jaime Aycock of Houston, Texas, and Jessica Aycock of Ft. Wayne; one great-grandson, Hunter Harrison Rottinghaus of Columbia; and a host of relatives and many friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Martin Lucas officiating.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
