Chaffee girls pull off upset

STE. GENEVIEVE -- Chaffee's girls basketball team pulled off an impressive upset Wednesday night, knocking off host Ste. Genevieve Valle 55-52.

The Warriors, ranked eighth in the most recent Class 2 state poll, lost for just the second time all season. They fell to 22-2. The Red Devils are 8-14.

Kegan Orr led the Red Devils with 15 points. Samantha Hendrix scored 11 and Mindy Hendrix added 10.

"We played an excellent game," Chaffee coach Tyson Moyers said. "The girls really worked hard and we executed."

PERRYVILLE -- Scott City pulled away in the second half to win on the road.

The Rams (12-10), who outscored St. Vincent 15-7 over the final two quarters, were led by Christy Laxton with 14 points.
