BENTON -- Virginia May Lemmink, 72, died at 11:42 a.m. Jan. 23, 2004, at the home of her grandson in Scott City.

Born May 8, 1931, at Portageville, daughter of the late Ruby May Wren and Troy Clifton Carr, she was a housewife.

On Aug. 30, 1947, in Pocahontas, Ark., she married James Robert Lemmink who preceded her in death on June 21, 1983.

One son and one sister also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, James Lemmink of Benton; one daughter, Nancy Taylor of Benton; three brothers, Gene Carr of Sikeston, Ernest Laymon of Morehouse and Franklin Frazier of Centralia, Ill.; three sisters, Sally Carden of Sikeston, Lois Crabtree of South Beloit, Ill., and Dorothy Tinnin of Morehouse; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from noon until time for services at 2 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. The Rev. Randy Morse will officiate.

Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.
