SCOTT CITY -- Keith H. Bauer went to meet our Lord Jesus Christ on Sept. 20, 2007, at home after an illness at the age of 56.
He was born May 25, 1951, in Chicago, Ill., to George W. and Marion Howard Bauer. He was united in marriage to Karen L. Eaker at Gordonville, Mo., on March 19, 2000.
Keith attended University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He was a Christian musician who reached a lot of people all over the United States. Mr. Bauer was a Christian and referred to himself as a "Child of Christ," not a denomination or religion. He loved the Lord very much and showed it daily with people he came in contact with. Mr. Bauer was an avid hunter and fisherman; he loved the outdoors and nature in itself.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; three daughters, Kristin (Kevin) McQuillan of the state of Pennsylvania, Kim (Toby) Russell of the state of California and Jackie Bauer of the state of Illinois; two sons, David Bauer of the state of California and Justin Eaker of the state of Missouri; his mother, Marion Bauer of the state of Florida; three brothers, George (Helen) Bauer of the state of Illinois, Eric Bauer of the state of California, Glen Bauer of the state of Florida; also two uncles, Wilbert (Delores) Bauer of the state of Texas and Charles Bauer of the state of Missouri; nieces, nephews and many cousins. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Kylie and Katie McQuillan of the state of Pennsylvania; one grandson on the way, due Jan. 28, 2008; and very special friends, Bonita Bauer and Sue Otto, plus many additional friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Bauer; his father, George Bauer; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
There is no visitation but a private memorial service will be conducted.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
