SIKESTON - A recommendation has been made to the War Department for the location of two Italian prisoner of war camps in Southeast Missouri. One of them is in the vicinity of Sikeston.
EAST PRAIRIE - The possibility of organizing a Junior Chamber of Commerce here for South Mississippi County will be aired at an open meeting scheduled by the Sikeston Jaycees at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Lions Club building.

SIKESTON - For the second year in a row, the Board of Municipal Utilities has a Christmas gift for its customers. Due to greater revenue intake than was predicted, said Utility General Manager Dick Inman, residential customers will receive a 45 percent discount on their December bills, commercial customers 40 percent and industrial customers 15 percent. Those percentages were based on the amount of revenue each classification produced.
CHARLESTON - It's official! A contract between the county and SeMo Skydiving Club to be the fixed base operator at the airport was approved and was signed Thursday by the Mississippi County Commission.
