Fatal accident

A Mississippi County resident sustained fatal injuries after her vehicle was struck by a tractor Monday evening. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 6:25 p.m., an accident occurred in Mississippi County on Highway 62 at Missouri Highway O as motorist Jackie A. Towe, 44, of Sikeston failed to yield his southbound tractor to the westbound car driven by Stacey Bowers, 34, of Bertrand. Bowers was taken by EMS to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, where she was pronounced dead at 7:20 p.m.
