ANNISTON -- John Tatum, 89, died at 9:15 p.m. March 12, 2004, at St. Louis University Hospital.
Born Aug. 27, 1914, at Anniston, son of the late Phil and Ethel Krauss Tatum Sr., he was a retired farmer and a member of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.
On March 6, 1946, he married Mary L. Blackwell who preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 2003.
One sister, Mabel Tatum, and two infant brothers, Willie D. Tatum and Lesley R. Tatum, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Allen and Nancy Tatum of Charleston and John Wayne and Melissa Tatum of Anniston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and J.R. Fulton of Corsicana, Texas, and Mary Ann and Dennis Rolwing of Waxahachie, Texas; one brother, Phil Tatum of Anniston; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Burl Britt and Mike Johnson officiating.
Burial followed with full military rites conducted by the Missouri Military Honors Program at the Anniston Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles A. Tatum Jr., Johnny Tatum, Ashley Hudson, Larry Hudson, Jerry Blackwell and Mark Martin.
