SIKESTON - Carletta J. Boardman, 78, died Feb. 18, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Nov. 10, 1925, in Matthews, daughter of the late Harry G. and Clara A. Edmondson Jones, she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Sikeston.
On Dec. 24 1942, she married Thomas Harold Boardman who preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2004.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Marc and Paulette Boardman and Kevin and Cathy Boardman of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Phil Winters of Sikeston; two sisters, Mary Ellen Van Gilder of Louisville, Ky., and Clara A. "Peggy" Parker of Lexington, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Matt Winters of Poplar Bluff, Amy O'Connor of Morehouse, Thomas Boardman, Jenalei Smith and Matthew Smith of Sikeston, Tyler Boardman of St. Louis and Austin Boardman of Cape Girardeau; and five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael K. Boardman, who died in the Vietnam War; and five brothers, Louis A. Jones, Paul F. Jones, Jimmy Dale Jones, Harry G. Jones and Allen P. Jones.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Tom Geers, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
