CHESTERFIELD - The Sikeston Bulldogs basketball team played at Parkway Central on Saturday night in Chesterfield and suffered a 55-25 loss at the hands of the powerful Colts.
Parkway Central (19-5), last year's Class 5 third place team, featured three 6-foot-6 and two 6-foot-5 players, that average 206 pounds.
The smaller Bulldogs simply did not match up as the Colts rolled to the easy win.
Parkway Central led 18-4 after one quarter and 32-9 at halftime. The Colts extended the lead to 43-17 heading into the fourth quarter.
Matt Feldhaus led all scorers with 16 points. Brandon Rooks followed up with 15 points.
In addition to having a distinct size advantage, the Colts also buried nine 3-pointers in the game, including three by the 6-6 Feldhaus.
Sikeston (5-15) was led by freshman Joe Lincoln's eight points. Sophomore Trey Spence followed up with six points and seven rebounds.
The Bulldogs turned the ball over 18 times.
Sikeston's jayvee team lost to Parkway Central 46-26. Parkway led 15-7 after one quarter and 28-11 at the half.
Sikeston (12-5) was led in scoring by freshman Josh Jackson's seven points. Sophomore Robbie Howard followed up with six points.
