NEW HAMBURG -- Laura Frances Hunter and Ryan Wayne Collins were married in a 5:30 pm. ceremony June 4, 2004, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Monsignor Stephen A. Schneider performed the double ring ceremony. Scripture readers were Sam W. Hunter of Alexandria, Va., Seth M. Hunter of Jackson, Miss., and William C. Hunter of Sikeston, all brothers of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Sam M. Hunter of Sikeston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. W.P. Hunter Sr. of Sikeston and the late W.P. Hunter Sr. and Dr. and Mrs. Don J. Wolfram.
Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Mike Tullis of Sikeston and the late Terry Collins. He is the grandson of Helen Wood of Sikeston, Irene Vandine of Marietta, Ohio, and the late Bud Collins and Thomas Vandine.
Organ music was provided by Mrs. Joe Fuchs.
Carrying a bouquet of ivory roses, gardenias and stephanotis, the bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown fashioned in candlelight ivory and cafe luster satin, which featured a strapless neckline border with a cafe band, princess A-line silhouette extending into a cafe bordered hemline. The back of the gown was accented with a lace-up back and chapel length train. The bride chose a candlelight ivory double-tiered illusion veil piped in cafe satin edging. Her pearl earrings were a gift from the bridegroom.
Lawren DeWitt McMullan of Sikeston attended the bride as matron of honor and Blake Collins served his brother as best man.
Mallorie Collins, niece of the bridegroom, passed out bird seed bags to guests. Robertson's Photography of Cape Girardeau photographed the event and wedding coordinator was Jena W. Hunter of Alexandria, sister-in-law of the bride.
Following the wedding ceremony, a cocktail hour and sit down dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents at Celebrations in Cape Girardeau. Mrs. Phillip Barkett furnished the double-tiered wedding cake.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Tullis hosted a rehearsal dinner the evening before the wedding at Schindler's in New Hamburg.
Following a honeymoon trip to Moon Dance Villas in Negril, Jamaica, the bride's parents hosted a tropical theme wedding celebration at their home on June 26. River's Catering of New Madrid provided the cocktail buffet meal, tropical flowers and wedding cake. Garden Lane Nursery provided tropical plants and Heppe's Heirloom Photography of Charleston, photographed the celebration. Entertainment was provided by Gino of Nashville, Tenn.
The bride and bridegroom were guests of honor for an April 9 bar and yard shower, hosted by Christy and Eric Beaird, Leslie Freeman, Tara Hale and Jamie Ralph, Jena and Sam Hunter, Mandy and Christian Hunter, Riley James, Matt Johnson, Wynne Kellett and Will Hunter, Jill and Deke Lape, Sarah Morrow, Kim Niolet and Seth Hunter, Jacqueline Whitehead, Tracee Williams, Leslie Winchester, Heather and Jimmy Woods and Mary Margaret and Will Yarbrough.
On April 30, a bridal shower was given by Mary Carolyn Adams, Elizabeth Alcorn, Toni Kellett, Annie Matthews, Kathy Mitchell, Alice Nunnelee and Cay Sikes at the Mitchell home.
A cocktail buffet dinner was hosted May 8 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Montgomery, also hosted by Dr. and Mrs. John Askew, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Couch, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hux, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Lape and Dr. and Mrs. Doug Walton.
The bride is actively engaged in row-crop production farming. The bridegroom is a training coordinator for Ralph Distributing Co. and a sales associate with Mitchell Realty.
Mr. and Mrs. Collins are making their home in Sikeston.
