DEXTER - Thell Fletcher Lewis, 90, died April 29, 2004, at his daughter's home in St. Charles.

Born Feb. 24, 1914, at Leora, son of the late Oscar and Sophia Tanner Lewis, he had been a grocery store owner and carpenter and was a veteran of World War II.

His wife, Gladys Geneva Christian Lewis, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Shelby Jean Johnson of St. Charles; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Lewis; one sister, Nurcine Graves; and one brother, Charlie Lewis.

Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. The Revs. Clifford Wray and Kenneth Biggs will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Puxico.
