CAMP ROBINSON, Ark. - Sgt. Elmer Matthews of Company K, who sustained a leg fracture when home on furlough recently in an automobile accident, is recovering nicely.

SIKESTON - William Carl Griffin of Redondo Beach, Calif., a former resident of Sikeston, is now attending State Polytechnic College in San Luis O'bispo, Calif., where he is majoring in electronics.

BLOOMFIELD - A county assessor will be elected for the first time Tuesday by Stoddard County residents in what is predicted to be a light vote turnout for the special election. Seeking the position are Democrat Wayne Millington of Dexter and Republican V.M. Watkins of Bloomfield.

SIKESTON - Tap dancing to the music of "One of the Boys" were Michelle Moll, Kristi Hadder, Megan Boyer and Lucy Mitchell in the recent Patti and Gerrie Ann Simmons Dancers annual recital.
