Eighth graders win

SIKESTON -- Sikeston's eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Charleston on Tuesday, 44-2.

Paige Silverthorn poured in 12 points and Allison Blurton contributed six points. On Monday, the team lost to Dexter 49-28. Silverthorn scored nine points in that game, and Blurton finished with five.

Sikeston (3-3) will host Cape Central on Thursday.
