BLOOMFIELD - William Ellis Pruett, 86, died Oct. 3, 2001, in Dexter.
Born Feb. 6, 1915, near Bernie, son of the late James and Bertha Teualton Pruett, he was a lifelong resident of Stoddard County. He was engaged in a mercantile business near Dexter for 20 years before moving to Frisco. He moved to Aid in 1956 where he continued a store business for 10 years.
Pruett became a regional sales manager for the National Motor Club of Dallas, Texas, and was a member of Liberty Hill General Baptist Church at Aid since 1957.
On Sept. 18, 1937, he married Rosa Pruett who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Gale Pruett of Bloomfield; two daughters, Freda Mott of Guthery, Okla., and Vicki Griffin of Edmond, Okla.; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Frank Bain officiating.
Burial will follow in the Harper Cemetery at Aid.
