SIKESTON -- Sikeston High School opened its wrestling season with a successful debut under new head coach Ivan Robison.

The young Bulldogs, comprised primarily of freshmen and sophomores, defeated Poplar Bluff 46-28 in a dual match.

"I'm pretty happy with the outcome," said Robison. "We had a lot of freshmen come through with wins."

Freshmen Cody Anderson and Gavilan Bland turned in impressive opening-night wins.

Sikeston hosts Farmington, where Robison formerly served as an assistant, on Tuesday.
