BARTLETT, Ill. - R. Wayne Lorch, 58, died Oct. 11, 2001, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
Born March 2, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., son of Claudine Tippett Lorch of Advance, Mo., and the late Leonard Lorch, he graduated in 1961 from Advance High School, where he was an all-state basketball player. He received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering in 1966 from the University of Missouri and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. A retired management supervisor, he had worked for the U.S. Steel Corporation in Chicago for 18 years and was a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Wayne. He also served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
On Aug. 23, 1975, at Chicago, he married Marilyn Gallo who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one son, Mark Wayne Lorch of Bartlett; one daughter, Cara Marie Lorch of Chicago; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Sharon Lorch and David and Audrey Lorch of Advance.
One brother, Michael Lorch, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance with the Rev. Frederick Lutz officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
