NEW MADRID -- Whitney Lyn Wade and Lee Crisler LaValle exchanged wedding vows in a 2 pm. ceremony Feb. 21, 2004, at the New Madrid Baptist Church. Shane Williams, minister of the Lilbourn Church of Christ, performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Sherrie Wade of New Madrid and parents of the bridegroom are Robert and Linda LaValle, also of New Madrid.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white Mori Lee Italian satin gown designed by Madeline Gardner. The strapless creation featured a fitted bodice with embroidery embellished with seed pearls, sequins and bugle beads. The modified basque waistline complemented the princess A-line skirt, which was enhanced with a band of embroidery embellished with pearls, sequins and bugle beads which encircled the princess skirt. The skirt flowed onto the chapel length train and the hem was formed with a band of embroidery, accented with sequins, pearls and bugle beads. The single tier illusion cathedral length bridal veil was embellished with pearls, sequins and bugle beads.
Pianist Cindy Faulkner and a string quintet of Sikeston provided music for the ceremony with vocalist Melissa Eddy. Selections included "Sunrise, Sunset," "Canon in D," the "Bridal Chorus," "There is Love" and the "Wedding March."
Maid of honor was Julie Jones of New Madrid and Kelly Wade of Sikeston was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tonya Palmer of New Madrid, Heather Bartels of Farmington and Brittany McDonald and Brooke McDonald of Oxford, Miss. Emilee Palmer, daughter of Ralph and Marsha Palmer of New Madrid, was miniature bride. Flower girls were Katherine Wade, daughter of Aaron and Kelly Wade of Sikeston and Erica Palmer, daughter of John and Tonya Palmer of New Madrid.
Brian LaValle of Millstadt, Ill., attended the bridegroom as best man. Groomsmen were Mark Adam Wade and John Palmer of New Madrid, Steven Medlin of Cape Girardeau, Luke Poynor of Columbus, Ohio, and David Courtois of New Madrid. Miniature bridegroom was Drew Palmer, son of John and Tonya Palmer of New Madrid. Grant LaValle, son of Brian and Chris LaValle of Millstadt, was ring bearer. Matt Palmer and Joe Courtois of New Madrid served the couple as ushers.
Paige Palmer of New Madrid was guest book attendant and program attendants were Jude LaValle of Tenafly, N.J., and Kaitlyn Reichert of Millstadt.
The wedding reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in New Madrid, where the meal was catered by Rivers of New Madrid. Guests were served by Suzanne Blackford of Charlotte, N.C., and Marianne Cook of Cape Girardeau.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents at the New Madrid Country Club.
Wedding coordinators were Sally Palmer of Kewanee and Debra Medling of New Madrid.
The couple was honored with a shower by the Southeast Missouri Hospital obstetrics staff at the home of Jerri Palmer in Jackson.
A couple's shower was given by the bridesmaids at the New Madrid Country Club.
Sally Palmer, Kathryn Stanley, Marsha Palmer and Margaret Palmer hosted a luncheon at the home of Marsha Palmer in New Madrid.
A brunch was given at Malone Avenue Grill in Sikeston by Kelly Wade, Kathy Owens, Anne Wade and Becky Wade.
Debra Medling, Cathy Gremore, Vicki Lange, Paula Hayes, Chris LaValle, Linda Spitler, Debbie Glenn, Sharon Frankum and Ann Odom hosted a bridal shower at Rebecca Sharp's in New Madrid. The new Mr. and Mrs. LaValle are planning a honeymoon trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico.
They are making their home in Madison, Tenn.
