ALEXANDRIA, La. -- Barbara Lorraine Bell and Kevin Duane Melton were married in a 6:30 p.m. ceremony Feb. 28, 2004, at Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria. Dr. B. David Brooks officiated. Reader for the occasion was Jacy Bell.
The bride is the daughter of Roger and Betty Bell of Alexandria. She is the granddaughter of George W. Bell of Alexandria, the late Freda Bell and the late Havis McKaskle. Her husband is the son of Margaret Melton of Baton Rouge and the late Kenneth Melton. He is the grandson of the late Cecil and Mary Melton and the late Dennis and Opal Rodgers, all formerly of Parma, Mo.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted by her father. Matrons of honor were Rachael Balsamo, Rebecca Jeansonne and Kimberly Lewis. Bridesmaids were Autumn Burke, Tonya Dortch, Shelli Heard, Laura Dauzart, Sally Longmire, Talia Kosh and Kira Ligato. Brelan Owen was the flower girl, and junior bridesmaid was Katie Bell.
Kelly Melton served the bridegroom as best man. Groomsmen were Colby O'Neal, Randy Searcy, Brian Thibodeaux, Duane Heard, Edward Beaver III, John Bell, Troy Bell, Hanner Jeansonne, and honorary groomsman was Kristopher Brazil. Austin Bell, J.R. Bell, and Tyler Bell were the ring bearers. Candlelighters for the ceremony were Tracey Bell and Kenna Melton.
A reception followed at the Holiday Inn.
A graduate of Alexandria Senior High School, the University of Southwestern Louisiana and Loyola University School of Law, the new Mrs. Melton is an attorney at The Gold Law Firm.
Melton is a graduate of Alexandria Senior High School and attended Louisiana State University. He is a commercial sales representative at Despino's Tire Company.
Following a honeymoon trip to Jackson Hole, Wyo., the couple is residing in Alexandria.
