To whoever suggested the Black Panthers and NAACP should be added to the terrorist list, we should also add ignorance to the list. It is almost impossible to destroy ignorance because it is passed to the children and the children's children. It is passed all the way to the third, fourth and fifth generations. Most people who spread ignorance have an unteachable spirit, therefore, knowledge is frightening to them and they run, hide and shudder in the darkness if they think knowledge is trying to find them. No rehabilitation can be done here.

Let's all pray for the person who said we should add the NAACP and Black Panthers to the terrorist list. Let's pray for our country and for unity in our country. It is needed for all nations, religions and creed. Let's pray daily at noon that all hatred be removed from our country so we can unify to bring peace to this world. Let's have no more hatred for any race.

The month of October is designated as Clergy Appreciation Month. In light of this, I would like to take an opportunity to honor my pastors at Tanner Street Church of God. The Rev. Carl Addison, senior pastor; the Rev. Larry Smith, associate pastor; Joe Drew, youth pastor; and Harold Myrick, minister of music, are to be commended for their dedication to their calling. Not only do they have great compassion for their local congregation, but also for our entire community. Thank you, God, for blessing us with these caring shepherds. And thank you, pastors.

Whoever took the keys, please bring them back. They are of no value to you. If someone finds several keys, please contact me at 471-4571. There will be a reward and no questions asked.

I would like to SpeakOut about the articles in the Standard about Bush. Have they not been keeping up with the news in the last eight years of who has sent jobs from here to Timbucktu? I don't believe they are thinking right. Who wrote our health care? "Big Mouth" Hillary.

I'm calling about the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. They're not doing their jobs. If they were, they wouldn't be arresting innocent people. It seems like every time I go somewhere, on the west end of town (and I'm white), they think I'm buying crack or dope because I go down Ruth Street and they want to pull me over. They get behind me, they follow me, they turn where I turn, I'm getting sick of it. So what I want to say to the Sikeston police department is shape up or ship out.
