Leona Whitehead

CLIO, Mich. - Leona Janice Whitehead, 82, died Oct. 30, 2001, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born July 29, 1919, at Morley, daughter of the late William Elic and Lula Johnson Bailey, she was a member of North End Baptist Church at Mount Morris, Mich.

On Sept. 14, 1940, at Bernie, she married Leroy Wendell Whitehead who preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1995.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Janet and Louis Ogelvie of Bernie and Terry and Joanne Whitehead of Linden, Mich.; one daughter, Sandra Whitehead of Bullhead City, Ariz.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Stanley and Carolyn Sue Whitehead; one son, Michael Whitehead; one grandson, Michael Ogelvie; and five brothers, Herbert Bailey, Carl Bailey, Pete Bailey, Ives Bailey and Bill Bailey.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie with the Rev. Joe Ogelvie officiating.

Burial followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
