WILSON CITY - Millie L. Lane, 87, died May 6, 2004, at the Charleston Manor.
Born Feb. 3, 1917, in Halls, Tenn., daughter of the late George and Omie Ward Graham, she attended public schools in Carbondale, Ill., and was a member of the Heroines of Jericho. She completed her GED in Charleston and retired as a supervisor for the Delta Area Economic Development Corporation in Charleston. She was also a member of Sanders Chapel AME Church in Wyatt, where she was president of the choir, church secretary and member of the Stewardess Board.
Her husband, Leonds Lane, preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Leonds Lane Jr. of Charleston; two daughters, Bonnie Heard of Wyatt and Glenda Briggs of Jefferson City; one brother, Roy Graham of Wilson City; and 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from noon Tuesday until service time at 1 p.m. at Sanders Chapel AME Church. The Rev. Debbie Thornton, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
