KENNETT - The Sikeston golf team improved to 7-3 on the season with a triangular win against Kennett and New Madrid County Central.
"It was a beautiful day but the golf was a little lackluster," said Sikeston coach Rick Oetting. "All three teams had played all week long and it starts taking its toll."
The Bulldogs edged out Kennett with the 5th man tiebreaker coming into play.
Both teams shot a 174 while NMCC wasn't far behind with a 184. Medalist for the Bulldogs with a 40 was Jason Deere. Matt Bain, Martin Schaefer and E. C. Atchison along with Derris Butler's tiebreaker scored for the dogs.
The junior varsity Bulldogs also won their match with scores coming from Ed Pike 46, Zed Hagen 46, Devin James 49 and Garrett Wagoner 53.
"After being on the road for four straight days we are looking at an easier week coming up where we will host Kennett Tuesday and Malden on Thursday at the Country Club," said Oetting. "That should give us some time to refine our swings and get ready for the Sikeston Invitational on Monday the 26th."
