SIKESTON - Colin K. Hawkins, 58, died April 27, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 27, 1946, in Sikeston, son of the late Charles T. "Billy" and Florence J. House Hawkins, he was a member of the Teamsters Local 674 in St. Louis and worked for Tucker Truck Lines and Jones Truck Lines in Sikeston and Cassen Transport Co. in Fenton before retiring in 2003. A 1964 graduate of Matthews High School, he served six years in the U.S. Army Reserve 1140th Engineer Battalion. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Sikeston Eagles Aerie 3319 and Knights of Columbus Council 3151, where he was a fourth degree member.
On Jan. 22, 1971, in Sikeston, he married Patricia Ann Vinson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Casey and Alvin Marcum of East Prairie and Katherine "Katie" Hawkins of Sikeston; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles W. and Margie Hawkins of Matthews; one granddaughter, Taylor Marcum of East Prairie; two stepgrandsons, Lee Hunter Marcum and Alex Marcum of East Prairie; one niece, Lisa Wilson of Nashville, Tenn.; one great-niece, Olivia Margaret Wilson of Nashville; and several aunts and cousins.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Stephen Schneider, pastor, officiating. The Rev. Tom Geers will deliver the eulogy.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Tommy Romines, Gerald Settles, Eddie McDowell, Shannon Jones, Byron Luber and Larry Luber.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Jim Crest, Glenn Barks, John Loeb, R.L. Richards and Frank McDowell.
