LaVerne Morrison

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Laverne Morrison, 73, formerly of East Prairie, died at 6:40 a.m. Aug. 17, 2004, at the Heartland Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born March 24, 1931, in Johnsonville, Tenn., daughter of the late Hudey and Alva Rhodes Ledbetter, she was a member of the First General Baptist Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include: two daughters, Angela Carlotta Southwick of Falls Church, Va., and Felecia Morrison of Arlington, Ky.; and two grandchildren, Lacey Markel and Jamie Markel.

One sister, Louise Williams, preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie with Dale Billingsley officiating.

Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
