SIKESTON - Jerry Lynn Bell, 68, died at 4:25 p.m. March 20, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 23, 1935, in Sikeston to the later Carter and Faye R. Chittenden Bell, he was a lifelong resident of the area. A retired steelworker, formerly employed with Noranda Aluminum Co., he served six years with the Missouri National Guard. He was a member of the Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon, a member and past master of the Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM, past patron of the Sikeston Chapter 137 Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 3319, Elks Lodge 2319, and Steelworkers Union Local 7686.
On June 30, 1957, in Lilbourn, he married Martha Elizabeth Oswalt who survives of the home.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: two sons, Steven Bell of Sikeston and Jeffrey Bell of St. Louis; two brothers, Bill Bell of Pensacola, Fla., and Anthony Bell of Memphis, Tenn.; and one sister, Anita Hodges of Sikeston.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Tom Bass and the Rev. John Goodwin will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers will be: Buddy Dannenmueller, David Hay, Nelson Curtis, Lloyd Redfering, Gary Riley and Larry Lambert.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Charles Wathen, Mark Dannenmueller, Melvin Cokenour and Cotton Holyfield.
