SIKESTON - Ira Brummett Gillean, 78, died at 7:04 p.m. April 26, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Nov. 11, 1925, in Jasper, Ark., son of the late Grant and Lucinda Weston Gillean, he was a factory line worker for Inland Steel and U.S. Gypsom. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and lived in Sikeston and Canalou most of his life.
Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Vicky Curry and Cathy and Dennis Woolen of St. Louis; two brothers, Arnold Gillean of Sikeston and Denver Gillean of Englewood, Fla.; four sisters, Willia Campbell of Sikeston, Genevieve Smith of Dyer, Ind., Nellie Collier of Pensacola, Fla., and Loretta Sherman of Troy, Mo.;' four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Teresa Freeman of Sikeston.
One brother, Lloyd Gillean, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of the Canalou Assembly of God Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
