SIKESTON - Imogene Constance Holmes, 83, died at 12:52 p.m. April 25, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Feb. 15, 1921, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late Fred Clarence and Josephine Victoria Young Dudley, she worked in service assistance for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 20 years. She lived in Cape Girardeau before moving to Sikeston in 1935 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston.
On Dec. 23, 1938, in New Madrid, she married Paul Philip Holmes who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1993.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jim Nickell of Sikeston and Connie and Ken Purcell of West Monroe, La.; two half brothers, Jerry Dudley of Indianapolis, Ind., and Paul Dudley of Troy, Mo.; four grandsons, Mike Nickell of Sikeston, Greg Nickell of Seattle, Wash., Phil Garner of West Monroe and Jay Garner of Collinston, La.; one stepgranddaughter, Jennifer Purcell of West Monroe; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Harold Norton, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jay Garner, Phil Garner, Blake Garner, Jeff Nickell, Mike Nickell, Greg Nickell, Rick Perry and Kent Perry.
