Visitors watch as employees of Burch Food Services Inc. prepare items at Burch's Culinary Center in Sikeston Wednesday. For the first time Burch Food Services, which has been operating for 30 years, is hosting the national Culinary Center Management Seminar. The purpose of the gathering is for franchises of the Canteen Corp., the world's largest vending company, to share best practices in food safety and quality control. The seminar began Tuesday at the Clinton Building and ends today. Approximately 50 franchise representatives from several states including Maine, New York, Florida and North Carolina attended the three-day event.
