Notre Dames rolls past NMCC; Jackson cruises by Kelly

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Notre Dame scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat New Madrid County Central, 10-0.

Jeremy Brinkmeyer (2-3) was the winning pitcher for Notre Dame, which improved to 6-2 in the SEMO Conference.

Blake Urhahn had three hits for the Bulldogs (10-4), while Dane Balsmann hit a home run and Derek Ressel had a triple.

FARMINGTON - Jake Welch pitched seven strong innings but Central could not overcome five errors in an eight-inning road loss.

Welch got one out in the seventh, but with runners on first and third Farmington scored the game-winner on an error. Patrick Slattery had two hits for Central.

JACKSON - Jackson banged out 14 hits and defeated Kelly at home.

Tyler Profilet had four hits and Jason Meystedt had three, including a triple to lead Jackson (10-4). Derrick Biri and Chad Minson each had two hits for the Indians.

SCOTT CITY - Mark Johnston limited Woodland to three hits and two walks while striking out seven in Scott City's home victory.

Matt Schaefer, Ryan Glastetter and Jonathan Barr each had two hits for the Rams (4-6) in the meeting of district rivals. Johnston also drove in two runs with a triple and Luke McClellan added two RBIs.

TRACK AND FIELD

CHAFFEE - Kelly's girls and Caruthersville's boys won meet. Kelly's Michael Glastetter won both the 800 meters and 1600 meters in the meet. Nathan Lewer took first in the high jump.
