SIKESTON - Lt. and Mrs. Clifford Lee Gipson Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., arrived last week to visit the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford L. Gipson and family. Lt. Gipson is a flight instructor at Luke Field, Ariz.

SIKESTON - Miss Emily Kendall and Miss Geneva Foster are leaving this Tuesday for Tucson, Ariz., to join the former's father, Ed Kendall, who has been there since May.

SCOTT CITY - The damaged Highway 61 bridge at Scott City is fast being replaced after being hit by steel objects by a Missouri Pacific freight as they passed under the bridge July 9. A 30-foot span was being replaced and concrete poured 10 days afterward. Bannisters will be replaced this week. The damage bridge will be open to traffic about August 1.

MOREHOUSE - Lisa McDonnold, daughter of Bill and Carolyn McDonnold of Morehouse, was crowned Miss Morehouse Saturday afternoon.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston Red team recently won first place in the 10-year-old division of the Sikeston Invitational Tournament. The players were: Andrew Lambert, Travis Deere, Chase Pressley, Nick Rhodes, Stephen Pobst, Blake Pinkerton, Jon Myrick, John Fuchs, Scott Ralph, Adam Hahs, Adam Garrett and Kyle Duncan. The coaches were Harold Myrick, Steve Lamer, Bo Ralph and Larry Garrett.

SIKESTON - The American Legion Auxiliary will conduct an installation of 1994-95 officers. There will be a dinner following and Auxiliary members are asked to bring desserts.
