SIKESTON - Mrs. C.H. King has purchased the Band Box Cleaning Co. from Bobbie Ralph and began operation of the company under new managers this week.
SIKESTON - An Indiana couple were the first to receive rodeo hospitality. The were going home to Alexander, Ind., when the Jaycee Kidnap Crew invited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rushin and their son, Harold Jr., to spend Friday in Sikeston and take in the rodeo Friday night. Giving them the news were Oral Withrow and Chief of Police Arthur Bruce.
PORTAGEVILLE - The boundary lines have been drawn and the proposed district, which would be carved from the present New Madrid County R-1 School District, will be voted on during the Nov. 6 election by those within boundary lines. The Missouri State Board of Education filed a plat of the proposed six-director district and the request for the election Tuesday afternoon at the New Madrid County Courthouse.
SIKESTON - Polished Image Nail Studio recently held its grand opening ceremony. The studio is located inside the Vanity Hair Salon in downtown Sikeston. Present for the ceremony were: Brenda Burns, Kerri Aldrich, owner, Denise Wilson-Findley, Joy Pickett, Cody Aldrich, Ada Wilson, Rejena Presley, Megan Looney and Johnny Wilson.

NEW MADRID - Contestants are being sought for events which will be a part of the 34th Annual American Legion Brown-Twitty Post 595's Fall Festival. The festival, set for Sept. 27 through Oct. 1 along Main Street in New Madrid, will feature three pageants and a parade.
