SIKESTON -- Robert Gene Hampton, 75, died Oct. 11, 2007, at his home.
Born Nov. 26, 1931, in Sikeston, son of the late Robert Raymond and Mary Elizabeth Burns Hampton, he had worked for International Shoe Company for 10 years. He was a route salesman and later branch manager for Pepsi Cola for 23 years and then was employed until retirement with Blue Bird Forms. A U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War, he was of the Pentecostal belief.
On Aug. 4, 1950, he married Emma Sue Graham who survives of Essex.
Other survivors include: one son, Gary L. Hampton of Sikeston; two daughters, Rhonda Rice of Cape Girardeau and Melody Eaton of Essex; one sister, Euna Adams of Mansfield, Tenn.; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, J.W. Hampton; and four sisters, Nola Hays, Grace Stevens, Sibble Lambert and Naomi Hampton.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Ponder Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Leslie Lambert of Mansfield, Tenn., and the Rev. Dan Rice of Swinton will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
