DEXTER - Ben Kruse, 28, died Aug. 14, 2004, of injuries sustained in a four-wheeler accident.
Born Aug. 7, 1976, in Sikeston, son of Charles and Pam Rodgers Kruse of Dexter, he graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter. A territory sales manager for Philip Morris USA, he was also a member of the Missouri State Babe Ruth Championship Team in 1993. He had been a pitcher for the Dyersburg (Tenn.) State College baseball team for two years.
On June 9, 2001, at Dexter, he married Amy Bolin who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include: one brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Kerri Kruse of Dexter; maternal grandmother, Catherine Rodgers of Dexter; his paternal grandparents, Albert and Irene Kruse of Dexter; his mother- and father-in-law, Eddie and Mary Bolin of Dexter; a brother- and sister-in-law, Brandon and Nikki Jines of Bloomfield; two nieces, Addie Kruse and Andie Kruse of Dexter; and his dog, "Bubba," and cat, "Kit-Kat."
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Calvin Rodgers; and his grandmother, Lena Kruse.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Vaughn Wright will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
