Harper takes first in Super Pro

Jerry Harper captured first place in the Super Pro Class.
SIKESTON - Jerry Harper of Sikeston streaked to victory in the Super Pro class at Sikeston Drag Strip on Saturday.

Harper defeated Jeremy Wells of Marble Hill, Mo. with a run of 87.49 miles per hour in an elapsed time of 7.497 seconds with a dial-in of 7.42 and a .5ll reaction time.

Wells ran 136.77 mph in an elapsed time of 5.199 with a dial-in of 4.99 and a .527 reaction time.

Dieter Woolard of Poplar Bluff, Mo., captured first in the Pro class with a run of 109.17 mph with an E.T. of 6.177 and a dial-in of 6.18.

Tony Jacques of Campbell, Mo., finished second at 106.68 mph with an E.T. of 6.312 and a dial-in of 6.33.

In the Pro-Mod class, Randy Merick of Zalma, Mo., placed first at 175.02 mph with an E.T. of 4.117, while Aaron Hodges of Oakland, Mo., took second at 63.93 mph with an E.T. of 6.888.

Holly Emery of Hazel, Ky., won the Junior Dragster division with a run of 81.21 mph in an E.T. of 7.693 with a dial-in of 7.66. Arriel McGowen of Dexter, Mo., was second at 52.81 mph in an E.T. of 12.083 and a dial-in of 12.00.

Tre Hammontree of East Prairie, Mo., ran first in the E.T. class at 85.56 mph to edge Tommy Nolen, also of East Prairie. Hammontree's E.T. was 7.696 with a dial-in of 7.66. Nolen's E.T. was 8.091 at 83.51 mph with a dial-in of 8.08.
