CARTHAGE -- Larry and Karen Catron of Carthage have announced the engagement of their daughter, Allyson Leigh, to Brandon David Helms, son of Joe and Pat Helms of East Prairie.

A 1997 graduate of Missouri Southern State College in Joplin, where the future bride earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration, she is a credit manager for Leggett and Platt.

The prospective bridegroom also attended Missouri Southern State College. A 1997 graduate of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy, he is a trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Wedding plans are under way for a May 15 ceremony at the First Christian Church in Carthage.
