Born March 29, 1925, in Center Ridge, Ark., son of the late I.C. and Mattie Dooley Morris, he served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired as a machine operator for Anderson Lumber Company in New Madrid.
In 1957, he married Laura Henderson who preceded him in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Benjamin Syas and Lloyd Elroy Morris Jr. of New Madrid and Stevie Morris of Sikeston; two stepsons, Floyd Stoum of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jerry Baker of Garland, Texas; two brothers, Ellis Morris of Blytheville, Ark., and Amos Morris of Jefferson City; three sisters, Jewell Byers of Kansas City, Velma Parmer of Syracuse, N.Y., and Lucresia Hicks of Lilbourn.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, Leon Stoum; and one brother, F.J. Morris.
Friends may call from noon Saturday until service time at 2 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
