Call 471-6636

I live on Salcedo Road. Across the street, somebody over there is flying the American flag. I don't know them, but I sure appreciate them doing that. I wish everybody in Sikeston would do the same thing once in awhile. We fought for this country and people honor us veterans when they fly the flag.

I'm calling in regard to "Looking for song" that was in the Aug. 26 paper. I have a CD with a tape of Della Reese singing "I'll Walk With You." She is singing it with her group. I will make you a copy of that or the whole CD if you like. Please put your telephone number in the paper and I'll call you.

I'm calling about the person looking for the tape by Della Reese, "I'll Walk With You." You can buy the tape at John's Christian Store. I have one, I bought one from them. If you don't have one, they can order one for you.

My son was sick Sunday morning and I called the police department. The ambulance sent out two of the best paramedics I have ever seen in my life, Chris and Chester. I would like for you to know I will always remember you in my heart and in my thoughts and I pray that God will always keep you, no matter what you do or where you're going in life. My son appreciates you also. His blood sugar was over 700 and they got it down to 300. Thank you and may God bless you always.

I want to SpeakOut about the Red Peppers initiation. I don't think it's appropriate for a 15-year-old girl to sit on the lap of a 17- or 18-year-old senior boy and sing a song of proposed marriage. Are these girls being initiated into the Red Peppers or the Playboy Bunnies? Keep the girls off the boy's lap.

I want to SpeakOut about the Red Peppers initiation and the practice of the senior girls demanding the sophomore girls to carry their book bags. Have you tried to pick up your child's book bag? It must weigh 30 pounds. I've read several articles about the ever-increasing instances of back pain experienced by our school-aged children. Almost without exception, doctors have been tracing the backaches of these kids to lugging around these book bags. These girls are being initiated as Red Peppers, not pack mules. Where are the administration and sponsors when this type of hazing takes place?

I know you won't print this, but you should. I hope all you Republicans are happy with Fast Freddie. You really thought he was doing something giving you a big tax relief, giving you those checks. Well, he sure did. He took money from people getting wages from their Social Security. That's the way they do every time they get elected into office. You will not see any raises on Social Security until you get him out of there.
