SIKESTON - With only four more days of practice before its first performance, the Sikeston High School Marching Band, under the direction of Pat Curry, is putting the finishing touches on the performance for the half-time performance when Sikeston plays Farmington Friday night.

SIKESTON - Don't look to see the same Sikeston High players down-after-down this year. If nothing else, the 1991 Bulldogs will have some depth. "We're going to play a lot of kids," Sikeston head coach Charlie Vickery said after the Bulldogs' Red-Black scrimmage Friday night.


LILBOURN - A group in Lilbourn proved the toughest kid in the neighborhood can change. Kid's Beat was organized on May 31, 1990, in an effort to keep the community's youth out of mischief by keeping them busy. "The worst kids I have had turned into some of the best ones," smiled Sherry Maxwell, coordinator. "Kids need to know somebody loves them and cares - that's the whole point."
