Sikeston student hit by car

SIKESTON - A Sikeston Middle School student was taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center for observation after the bicycle he was riding was hit by a pickup truck this morning.

The accident happened at about 7:35 a.m. at 510 Lindenwood in front of the Middle School.

Department of Public Safety officials said the injuries, which included a laceration on the leg, appeared to be very minor.

No citations were issued although the accident is still under investigation.
