CHARLESTON -- Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin A. Whitehead have announced the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Lee, to Ryan Brown Logan, son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard N. Logan Jr. of Charleston.

A 1997 graduate of Charleston High School, the future bride received a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2002 from Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau. She is pursuing a master's degree in elementary administration at William Woods University.

The prospective bridegroom graduated in 1999 from Charleston High School and received a degree in applied computer science in 2003 from Southeast Missouri State University.

A Jan. 22, 2005, wedding is being planned.
